Outdoor Activities

If your pleasure is walking or cycling, strenuous or relaxed, Dalkeith Estate offers the space to do it. Being an island of green so close to the town centre in a peri-urban situation, the estate is home to a huge variety of animals and birds. Deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards can be seen, by even the most inexperienced nature watcher. Our BBQ area is the perfect way to relax and enjoy a meal with your family.

The Puppet Lab based in Edinburgh contacted us with a secret mission request.  They were looking for land to practice walking their new creation and we were only to happy to help. 

The field in front of Dalkeith Palace saw over 800 guides attend the Midlothian centenary jamboree held on the Estate.
