There is a discounted entrance fee to compensate for this.

All other facilities will remain open - Cafe, Toilets, Woodlands, BBQ sites.

Dalkeith Country Estate is a very special place. Only 5 miles from Edinburgh city centre, Dalkeith Country Estate is your great centre for a fun family day out.

The exciting adventure playground has giant slides, tree tip walkways, rope swings and its famous flying fox zip slide.


It's not all fast and furious fun, re-charge your batteries in the quiet of this picturesque 500 acre woodland. Bluebell walks, riverside trails, cycle tracks and picnic areas offer a great chance to have a fun family day out. 


Highland cow, lambs, piglets or horses are just some of the animals that you could meet at the Estate. 


For the keen birders our woodlands are alive with birdsong. We can almost guarantee that you'll see many of our British species on your trails.
